I’ll be competing at the Masters of Flair in Birmingham
So, the Masters of Flair, which I’m hosting in Birmingham, it now turns out I’ll be performing too!
In an unexpected twist, Sunny the organiser has asked me to compete on the night too, and how could I refuse! Being a part of the competition will give me a really useful baseline for where my flair is right now and allow us to see how much The Flair Project adds to my skill level and performance.
Of course, I’ll be doing my best at the comp – the last thing I want to do is to embarrass myself! I’ll also be shooting a lot of video at the competition, I’m aiming to record everyone’s routines as well as interviewing the competitors and hopefully getting moves from each of them to go into The Flair Project routine for Roadhouse 2015.
The Masters of Flair has different rules to the Roadhouse World Flair, the routine is 6 minutes plus an extra minute at the end for a Big Ass Move as opposed to Roadhouse’s 5 minutes. I’ll also have three drinks to make rather than two, one of which has a mixology element included.
You can find out much more at MastersOfFlair.com (a sub site of BartenderHQ) including all the categories, how to enter (if you want to compete against me) and more.
I’d love as many of you as possible to be there, we’ll be raising money for Birmingham Childrens Hospital too on the night so come along if you can!
The last competition I entered was the Masters of Flair in 2013, so I’m at least a little familiar with it, its all among friends and should be a blast of a night!
As you’ll be aware, I don’t currently bartend full time, I’m in an office during the day and have a young son of 12 months old, so squeezing in the practice is a challenge… but not an excuse! If I can find time to get my routine together, so can you! 🙂
Masters of Flair V will take place at Reflex Arcadian on August 23rd 2015 from 7pm
