I was lucky enough to be asked to compare the Masters of Flair competition in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter this past Sunday at the awesome Vertu Bar.¬†With memorable performances from every bartender, great entertainment and a big pile of cash raised for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, it was a great night all around.

Masters Of Flair includes categories for different classes of bartender, so even if you’re not a pure flair performer, you can still focus on other aspects such as mixology and be in the running for a prize on the night. In addition, each bartender’s 3 drinks are auctioned off to the audience between rounds, both keeping the night flowing and raising important funds for their charity.

Before the contest proper began, I spent some time talking to the bartenders and filming some clips of the guys warming up and preparing for the contest – I’ll try to get this edited together by the weekend so if you want to know as soon as its done, pop your details in our sign up form, which will get you a free ebook of my favourite killer cocktails and keep you up to date on everything going on at Bartender HQ!
