The Alexander is a true classic cocktail, and like many others is a little stronger than most modern tastes would expect. Brandy has always been popular in deserts and this creamy chocolate concoction doesn’t disappoint, with the cognac adding real richness to the drink.


Chilled Cocktail glass, Garnish with ground nutmeg.


  • 1oz (30ml) Cognac
  • 1oz (30ml) Brown Creme de Cacao
  • 1oz (30ml) Fresh Cream

Shake with ice and strain.


To tame the strength of this drink, it is often made as an ice cream milkshake style drink by adding a couple of scoops of vanilla or chocolate ice cream, then served in the slightly larger wine glass. This makes a great alternative to a desert if you prefer your pudding through a straw!
