While Jon caused some controversy in the bar industry with his comments on Mezcal and Tequila (below) his knowledge as an operator and businessman can’t be denied.

“I’m not sure if there’s a definition of one gets you angry or not, but tequila is inherently made from mezcal, which mescaline, the hallucinogenic drug is made from. So tequila can have a hallucinogenic component, you might be talking to someone who’s not there. (Laughs)”

GaryVee on Wine & Cereal Pairings: (Wine Library TV)

Gary Vaynerchuk most likely had a hand in the creation or at least inspiration behind Jon Taffer’s Podcast venture as Jon was a guest on the #AskGaryVee show. Gary started out in the wine business growing his father’s liquor store from 3 to 60million dollars in revenue over a short time. As a part of this process, Gary created Wine Library TV, which ran in the early days of YouTube for over 1000 episodes.

Gordon Ramsay Bartending

This got a little shout out in the show so I thought I’d include it. Gordon Ramsey bartending is a delight to watch. Be aware, it gets a bit sweary, as you might expect. However, you’ll see how he really does respect the work of the bartenders here, and I think it’s very useful for chefs to see the work our bar teams do, and vice versa.
