The Apple Passion cocktail is one of the lesser known TGI Friday’s (UK) drinks that really deserves more attention than it gets. The Gremlin Cocktail, Apple Passion and a whole host of other drinks were created in the early 2000s through a competition to create Blavod cocktails, (including the Pingu shooter, included in my Killer Cocktails eBook). This long drink is served on the rocks in a sling glass or Catalina, and has a colour graduation from deep blue to green, yellow, and is topped with a layer of black vodka.

Catalina or Sling Glass

Apple Passion Recipe

  • ┬żoz (22.5ml) Blue Curacao
  • 3oz (90ml) Apple Juice
  • 3oz (90ml) Passionfruit Juice
  • 1oz (30ml) Blavod Black Vodka

Build the drink over cubed ice. Pour the ingredients in order, floating the Blavod on top of the drink in a distinct layer. Serve with a squeeze of lime.

Just like the Gremlin, the distinctive look of this drink means that customers around the bar will almost always ask you what’s in the drink and give you the chance to sell these all night long. Fast to make (as long as you don’t run out of the speciality glasses too early) and really, really tasty.
