This Spiced Syrup was created at One & Only The Palm in Dubai and is featured on the Podcast Episode 2 and in the Spiced Sangria in Episode 11.
It gives a great Christmas feel to many drinks, as well as adding interest to other recipes.
Spiced Syrup Recipe
- 500ml water
- 500 grams Grandulated Sugar
- 20g Cinnamon Bark
- 20g Star Anise
- 20g Cardamon
- 20g Black Pepper (cracked)
- 10g Cloves
- Zest of 5 Lemons
- Zest of 5 Limes
Method
- Heat all ingredients to boiling point in a large pan.
- Stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Simmer at a rolling boil for 5 mins.
- Allow to cool naturally to room temperature.
- Strain ingredients out.
- Chill syrup.
