What does Neave’s Pop Down Bar Cost?
Free from tedious queues, strict dress codes and bouncers that resemble Bond villains. This is not a pop up as you know it: this is Neave’s Pop Down Bar.
Grant Neave, UK brand am-badass-ador for Monkey Shoulder, will open his unique Pop Down Bar for three weeks only from 3-29 July and everything that grinds your gears about a night out can be left at the door as you will be treated to a bar experience that totally reinvents the conventional.
Guests will notice a difference before they even enter. Leaving typical surly bouncer behaviour to one side, Neave’s Pop Down Bar doormen have been professionally trained in ‘public manner’ etiquette so customers can expect flowers and smiles and even the odd joke to make entry even more enjoyable.
And you won’t be outside for long. At Neave’s Pop Down Bar we’ll get you in quick, but if we can’t then it pays to be patient. As well as cocktail tasters whilst you wait, we’ll even give you a ‘name’ to drop in at the bar with Neave’s ‘mates rates’ tokens, which will help get your night off to the best start.
Don’t leave those snaps languishing in the depths of the cloud. An onsite hashtag printer will be on hand to capture the action and provide a memento of your night. Simply upload your picture to Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #NeavesBar to get a free print and the chance to win some cool prizes.
If you struggle with strict dress codes, Neave’s Pop Down Bar is the place for you. In fact if we think you’re too overdressed for the occasion, Neave has got you covered with his very own uniform. From comedy trainer-style over shoes to a selection of trucker caps available at the door, you’ll feel right at home.
Finally, the perfect night out wouldn’t be complete without some unique and delicious cocktails including the long and refreshing Apple Mac served on draught and twists on classics such as the Gorilla Old Fashioned—pre-batched and served from a 4.5 litre Monkey Shoulder bottle, plus some equally innovative and tasty treats.
Mad scientists of the food world, Dram & Smoke are set to provide specially crafted ‘Manapés’, from duck donuts to deep fried Mars Bars in tempura batter with Monkey Shoulder jellies. All specifically designed as one handed affairs, so no need to put down that Monkey Shoulder cocktail while you munch.
Grant Neave, Monkey Shoulder’s UK brand ambassador said “We listened to Brits main bug bears about enjoying a night out and used that insight to reinvent the experience. Neave’s Pop Down is not just another pop-up. It defies expectations, challenges convention and encourages everyone to pop down and have some fun. Our doors are only open for three short weeks, so people need to put it in their diary now or miss out!”
About Monkey Shoulder
Monkey Shoulder retails for an RRP of £27.50 per 70cl bottle with 40% ABV
Monkey Shoulder is a malt whisky blended from three of Speyside’s finest single malts, using batches of just 27 casks for a smoother richer taste.
The name is rooted in malt whisky history and inspired by the malt men who still turn the malting barley by hand. The skill of the malt man is demonstrated when he turns the malting barley using a shiel (wooden Shovel). Years ago some Malt men used to develop a temporary strain known by the men as Monkey Shoulder. Thankfully practices have changed and the condition no longer exists!
Not that we like to brag, but Monkey Shoulder’s mantelpiece is resplendent with numerous awards – some will be impressed by our Gold award at the 2012 International Wine & Spirit Competition.
