So continuing our series of cocktails based on what the Avengers would enjoy, here’s Bruce Banner, with the Hulk Cocktail.
So Bruce Banner is constantly trying to balance his emotions and keep his rage in check to keep the Hulk under wraps. Bruce is a very accomplished scientist, a brilliant mind, but as a result of absorbing gamma rays (lets be honest, what superhero hasn’t…) changes into the Hulk when he gets angry and looses control.
Inspired by the Jekyl & Hyde aspects of Bruce Banner / Hulk’s character, I’d suggest a gin base to the drink. Bruce is quite reserved if sarcastic, and I can certainly see him as a gin and tonic drinker.
The Hulk Cocktail
I’m going with a twist on the Classic Gin & Tonic with a sting in the tail for this one – mixing premium gin with fresh citrus and chill, refreshing but with a little heat!
- 2oz (60ml) Burleighs Gin
- ¾oz (22.5ml) Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
- 1 Dash Angostura Bitters
- ½ Jalapeno pepper, seeded, diced
- Fever-Tree Tonic Water
Muddle the chilli pepper flesh in the base of a Boston shaker tin, then add the Gin, lime juice and bitters. Shake hard with ice and strain over fresh ice in a collins glass. Top with Tonic water & garnish with a slice of chilli.
Burleighs Gin is infused with 11 of the world’s finest botanicals including silver birch, dandelion, burdock, elderberry and iris, making it perfect for the Hulk Cocktail. Distilled in Leicestershire, they also offer an export strength and a Distillers Cut.
The Incredible Hulk, Bruce Banner, Avengers, Age of Ultron and a bunch of other stuff mentioned here are trademarks of Marvel and/or Disney. I don’t profess to own anything, this is a fan article! If i’m breaking any rules I’ll take it down. I’m not here to upset any lawyers!
