The Hurricane is a tropical style rum cocktail served long with plenty of juice, so it’s pretty easy drinking and tastes a little too innocent! The below recipe is based on the TGI Friday’s Hurricane recipe that I made for years at the bar.
The Hurricane glass (aka the Poco Grande, also used for the Piña Colada) is named after the drink, but in a pinch it’s fine served in a Collins glass.
Hurricane Cocktail Ingredients
- 1¼oz Rum
- 2oz Passionfruit Juice
- 1½oz lemon juice
- ½oz Grenadine syrup
- Float 1oz Fresh Orange Juice
Best shaken with ice before floating the orange juice although building the drink is also acceptable. Squeeze a lime wedge on top and drop in to garnish
