El Tindero: A Bacardi Legacy Cocktail by Richie Cruz
Bacardi Legacy has always been one of the most prestigious cocktail competitions in the world and its getting bigger every single year. For the first time Bacardi Legacy is coming to the Philippines and Richie Cruz is hoping that his creation, the El Tindero Cocktail will take him all the way to the finals.
Bacardi Legacy is all about creating a new, modern classic cocktail, something that could become a staple of menus around the world alongside the Daiquiri, the Mojito and the other classic rum recipes that every bartender in the world makes on a daily basis.
As a part of this effort, cocktails that perform well in the Legacy tend not to include crazy or home made ingredients as the idea is to make a drink that can be replicated around the world, and El Tindro embraces this spirit well.
El Tindero Cocktail Ingredients
- 1 1/2oz (45ml) Bacardi Gold (Bacardi Carta Oro)
- 3/4oz (25ml) Lager Beer
- 3/4oz (25ml) Coconut Juice
- 1/4oz (10ml) Muscovado Syrup
- 1 Barspoon Apple Cider Vinegar
Shake with ice and double strain over a large ice cube in a rocks glass with a gold leaf rim.
What makes El Tindero Unique?
Richie Cruz has chosen to leave out the citrus that almost every bartender would gravitate to and instead used Apple Cider Vinegar to bring a unique character to the cocktail.
Designed as an after dinner drink to follow a sumptuous meal, the El Tindero is a complex drink in terms of flavour but not in terms of production.
