42 Below, the New Zealand Vodka has launched a new cocktail competition with a focus on sustainability to highlight what we can all do in our businesses to protect the planet.
“Entries are now open for 42BELOW’s first Trans-Tasman sustainability focused cocktail competition. Yes, that’s right my kale munching, moustache tweaking, Bernie Sanders supporting mavericks. You could be sustainably shaking your vegan arse to beautiful Queenstown for a Cocktail Comp that reminds you just why we want to save this breath-taking home we call Earth. To qualify – all you have to do is grab a mate and create a cocktail championing sustainable practises – using the pure spirit of 42BELOW vodka. So if you’re a bar team that embraces 42BELOW like it was the last fresh water source on the planet – this is the cocktail comp for you.”
The drinks will be judged based on their names, sustainable practices, recipe, appearance, consumer appeal, rationale and inspiration out of 100 points by the brand ambassador, though there is a 10,000 point bonus that will clinch certain victory if you can get a picture of Al Gore drinking the cocktail!

The competition closes on May 31st 2016 and you can find full details here on AustralianBartender.com.au with the winners being flown to the 42BELOW Cocktail Earth Cup in Queenstown in August.
